About

The Raleigh Red Oaks are Raleigh’s collegiate summer wood bat team in the Old North State League, bringing great baseball and community pride to the heart of the city. After a highly successful inaugural season in 2025 filled with packed stands, thrilling wins, and growing local support, the Red Oaks are moving downtown to historic Wiley Warren Field at Broughton High School — a landmark setting that captures the spirit of summer baseball in Raleigh.

Our vision is simple: Great Baseball. Rooted in Raleigh.
We’re building a team that reflects the energy, creativity, and connection of our city — one that fans can be proud to call their own. From the players on the field to the families in the stands, every Red Oaks game is a celebration of Raleigh’s love for the game.

Leading the charge is Carl the Squirrel, our fearless (and slightly mischievous) mascot who we hope will become a local icon. Carl brings energy, laughs, and plenty of acorn-fueled antics to every game, reminding fans that baseball should be as fun as it is competitive.

The Red Oaks are more than a team — we’re part of the community. Through partnerships with local businesses, youth sports engagement, and fan-focused events, we’re growing something lasting right here at home.

What is college summer baseball?
College summer baseball, and wood bat leagues like the Old North State League, give college players the opportunity to sharpen their skills in a professional-style environment. Unlike traditional college baseball, which uses aluminum bats, summer leagues use wood bats to better simulate the pro game. The ONSL attracts top talent from across the country, offering players invaluable development and exposure to scouts.

For fans, it’s baseball at its purest — close-up, fast-paced, and filled with the stars of tomorrow.

Join us this summer at Wiley Warren Field for another unforgettable season of Red Oaks baseball — where every inning is Great Baseball. Rooted in Raleigh.
