Rooted in Raleigh: Meet the Red Oaks!

by Chase Lio

After weeks of anticipation and a nutty amount of community engagement, we’re thrilled to reveal the brand-new name of Raleigh’s collegiate summer baseball team—the Raleigh Red Oaks! We launched a city-wide survey, and with over 50% of the vote, Red Oaks emerged as the top pick. Raleigh, you’ve spoken, and we’re excited to take the field under a name that represents the spirit of our city.

But the Red Oaks are about more than just a name. We plan to become rooted in the Raleigh community, committed to supporting local events, joining youth sports initiatives, and creating opportunities to give back to our city. From family-friendly events and player meet-and-greets to our involvement in youth sports programs, our goal is to be more than just a team—we’re here to become a pillar of the community.

And speaking of exciting additions, we’re thrilled to introduce our new mascot, a spirited and mischievous squirrel who’s already gearing up to be a fan favorite. Plus, we’ll need your help soon to give him a name, so keep an eye out as we get closer to the season!

Next summer promises to be one for the books. Along with thrilling home games, we’re planning a lineup of events for fans of all ages, from clinics for young players to community nights celebrating our amazing city. The Red Oaks are more than a baseball team—they’re a chance for Raleigh to come together, make memories, and root for something truly special.

Get ready, Raleigh! We can’t wait to see you in the stands, cheering on the Red Oaks and making next summer unforgettable for the whole community.
