The Oak City Gliders Have New Owners! Get Ready for a Home Run of a Revamp

by Chase Lio

Big changes are happening in Raleigh baseball! The Oak City Gliders (soon to be renamed, see below) are officially under new management. Chase and Emily Lio, along with their two pint-sized “coaches” - sons, ages 3 and 1.5 - are stepping in to revitalize the team. But it's not just about putting more runs on the board. Chase and Emily have a vision for Raleigh baseball: to make the team an integral part of the community, partnering with local youth sports, businesses, and organizations. They’re building something bigger than just baseball—it’s about creating a family-friendly experience that’s more fun than watching your dad try to catch a foul ball with a hot dog in one hand.

What’s New? Glad You Asked!

This revamped organization will be all about high-quality, competitive baseball, but with a laid-back, fun atmosphere that welcomes everyone. Whether you're a die-hard fan or just there for the snacks, they want every game to feel like a community party.

And here’s the real curveball: the team is getting a full-on rebrand! The Oak City Gliders will soon have a new name—and they’re leaving it up to YOU, the fans, to pick it. No pressure… we’re only counting on you to name an entire baseball team!

Stay Tuned for All the Fun

In the meantime, keep your eyes glued to the team’s website and social media for updates on the rebranding and other exciting changes. And please share share share! The broader our reach the bigger this can get! We’ve got a lot in store, and you won’t want to miss it.

And if you’re interested in joining the team as a player, coach, or just want to chat about how awesome this new direction is, feel free to reach out to Chase directly at chasetlio@gmail.com. He promises not to send you any baseball puns. (Okay, maybe just one.)

Raleigh, get ready—because you have a new Baseball team in town!
